Security Menu

Table 20 shows the Security menu. This menu sets passwords and security features.

Feature Options Description
User Password
Is
No options Displays whether or not there is a supervisor password installed.
Default is no user password installed.
Supervisor
Password Is
No options Displays whether or not there is a user password installed. Default
is no supervisor password installed.
Set Supervisor
Password
Press <Enter> to
input a supervisor
password.
Password can be up to seven alphanumeric characters. Default is
no supervisor password.
Set User
Password
Press <Enter> to
input a user
password.
Password can be up to seven alphanumeric characters. Default is
no user password.
Clear User
Password
No options Clears the user password.
User Access
Level
Limited
No Access
View Only
Full (default)
“Limited” allows only limited fields to be changed such as Date and
Time. “No Access” prevents user access to the Setup Utility.
“View Only” allows access to the Setup Utility but the fields can not
be changed. “Full” allows any field to be changed.
Unattended
Start
Disabled (default)
Enabled
Disables or enables an unattended start.

Quiet Boot Disabled (default)
Enabled
“Disabled” displays normal POST messages. “Enabled”
displays OEM logo instead of POST messages.
Quick Boot Disabled
Enabled (default)
Allows the BIOS to skip certain tests while booting. This
decreases the time needed to boot the system.
Scan User
Flash Area
Disabled (default)
Enabled
Allows the BIOS to scan the Flash ROM for user
binaries.
